You can buy certified wood, or boycott products made with unsustainable palm oil. Even Brazilian cattle ranchers are trying to be less destructive. But unless we provide an alternative we cannot stop millions* of poor farmers from burning the forest simply to be able to live. Yet the farmers remain very poor.

At least two fifths of rainforest destruction is from slash and burn farming (see The issues) Who is going to tell some 300 million* slash and burn farmers to stop burning the rainforests when that is the only way they know to feed their families?

WE ARE !

by working with local initiatives to show these farmers how to feed their families much better with Inga alley farming. Well, not all of them at once, but we are doing our best.

Honduran children

At present we are supporting the work of local people in Honduras and Cameroon to enable these farmers to adopt Inga alley cropping.
